Poipu Horseback Riding

Experience a truly fantastic horseback ride on the beautiful south shore of Kaua'i .

On this excursion you will:

  • Take a narrated drive to the stables for a short orientation.
  • Continue on a 90-minute ride through the ancient Mahaulepu area popular to beach goers, wind surfers and local fishermen.

This snorkel adventure is perfect for both beginners and experts alike.

On this underwater excursion you will:

  • Be provided with snorkel equipment and be briefed while you are on the site.
  • Learn how to snorkel and what you can expect to see.

Tubing the Ditch

This unique tubing adventure takes place on the historic waterways, flumes and ditches of the old Lihue Plantation.

On this excursion you will:

  • Take a short drive to the Hanamaulu Ditch system to begin your tubing expedition.
  • Float down the tropical waterway consisting of open ditches, tunnels and flumes hand dug circa 1912.
  • See Kauai 's unspoiled interior and enjoy breathtaking vistas and spectacular scenery.
  • Enjoy a snack at an enchanted picnic area complete with a pristine swimming hole.

Notes: Guests should wear swimsuits or quick drying shorts and shirts. Bring a towel, change of dry clothing, waterproof sunscreen, hat and mosquito repellent. Water shoes, headlamps, snacks and beverages are included.

Minimum age is 8 years old; an adult must accompany children under the age of 18. Not recommended for pregnant women or guests that suffer from claustrophobia.

Maximum weight is 250 lbs.

 

 

 

Wailua River & Fern Grotto

Float aboard a Hawaiian riverboat on an unforgettable trip and a visit to a riverfront botanical garden.

On this excursion you will:

  • Begin with a narrated, open air tram ride through the 30-acre Smith's Tropical Paradise Botanical & Cultural Gardens .
  • After visiting the gardens, cruise up the Wailua River, Hawaii's only navigable stream, aboard a Hawaiian riverboat. Listen to delightful island legends and lore.
  • At the turn around point in the river, local musicians will entertain you with Hawaiian song and hula dances, concluding with the Hawaiian Wedding Song dedicated to guests celebrating a honeymoon or anniversary.

For safety reasons, the State of Hawaii 's State Park's Division has temporarily closed the Fern Grotto; therefore, guests will not be visiting this location.

 

 

Waimea Canyon & Wailua River Tour

Combine a visit to the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific”, the 2,857-foot-deep Waimea Canyon and take a scenic ride up the Wailua River .

On this dual excursion you will:

  • Drive to a lookout point at 3,400 feet for an unsurpassed view of the canyon.
  • See the array of colors created by the exposed volcanic rock and lush tropical vegetation.
  • Board a riverboat for a journey along the historic Wailua River Valley .

  • Learn about the native plants as you descend, via a scenic switchback trail, to a beautiful cascading 100-foot waterfall.
  • Swim, take pictures under the falls, relax and enjoy a delicious lunch.
  • Enjoy the scenery before heading back to the ranch and back to the dock.

Notes: Guests should wear swimsuits under comfortable clothing and footwear. Bring a towel, waterproof sunscreen, hat, insect repellent and waterproof camera. Backpacks, water shoes and rain ponchos, are all provided. A full lunch and water in souvenir sports water bottle included.

Minimum age is 5 years and an adult must accompany guests under 18 years of age. All hikers must be in good physical condition and should expect to lower themselves down a 10-foot natural rock formation with the assistance of guides. The climb is very safe and controlled however guests must be able to hold their own weight.
